Gene A. Hanson, 70, Fargo, ND, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2012 at the Palliative Care Unit of Sanford Health, Fargo.

Gene was born on September 7, 1942 to Clifford and Lillian (Liebenow) Hanson in Moorhead, MN. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High School. He went on to attend Dakota Business College.

Gene was born on September 7, 1942 to Clifford and Lillian (Liebenow) Hanson in Moorhead, MN. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High School. He went on to attend Dakota Business College.

He worked various jobs, spending later years at Wylie Trucking and Wal-Mart.

He is survived by one sister, Phyllis (Victor) Martin, Moorhead, MN; two brothers, Gerald (Ginny) Hanson, Fargo, ND and Curtis Hanson, Moorhead, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Gene was a friend of Bill W. and devoted his life to helping others. He loved cars, bowling, golfing and his tomato garden.

Visitation: Tuesday, January 1, 2013 from 5 to 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND, with a prayer service at 7 PM and one hour before the service.

Funeral: Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 2 PM in West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo, ND

Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND
