JoAnn was born August 7, 1943 in Jamestown ND where she attended Jamestown High School graduating in 1961. She was a competitive swimmer with numerous awards and accolades. In addition she was an accomplished artist and sports enthusiast.

JoAnn Helen Ulrickson died on Jan 3, 2013 at Prairie Lodge Memory Unit, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. She was 69 years old. JoAnn was born August 7, 1943 in Jamestown ND where she attended Jamestown High School graduating in 1961. She was a competitive swimmer with numerous awards and accolades. In addition she was an accomplished artist and sports enthusiast.
She attended Jamestown College and graduated in 1965 with a BA degree in Physical Education. She then moved to Minneapolis where she worked at Glenwood Hills Hospital as a recreation therapist. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and never turned away a stray animal. Friends could smell the aroma of a good meal being cooked and would mysteriously show up at her home. She never turned a hungry friend away.
She is survived by her life time partner, JoHanna Miller and sisters, Mary Jean Dennis (Robert Dennis), Fargo, N.D., Karen Senne (Paul Senne) Jamestown N.D., a niece, Dawn Olson, and nephews Jonathan Dennis, and David Dennis, and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Ulrickson and Alice Ulrickson.
The family requests that memorials be sent to Hospice.
A memorial service will be held celebrating her life on January 19 in Golden Valley, Minn.
