Warner

William W. Warner, 91, formerly Fargo, passed away Friday, January 4th, 2013 at the Frazee Care Center, Frazee, MN.

William "Bill" was born September 18, 1921 in Fargo, ND. He was the son of R.D. and Gertrude Warner.

Bill attended Shatuck school, and graduated from Central High School in Fargo. He then attended Dartmouth College.

He was a pilot in the Air Force and was stationed in France during World War II. He was very proud of his service and the fact that he had flown over "the hump".

January 7, 1945 he married Dorothy Sakariassen in Reno, NV. They made their home in Fargo.

Bill worked at Warner and Company until his retirement. In 1985 they moved to Scottsdale, AZ where they lived until Dorothy died in 2008. Bill came back to live in Frazee to be close to his daughter.

Bill had many interests. He enjoyed snowmobiling and riding motorcycles with his buddies for many years. He also liked to sail. After retirement he took up golfing. He was proud to tell the story when he got a hole in one and had to buy drinks for everyone in the clubhouse. He was an avid movie buff. He had a movie theater in his basement where they would have parties and all watch movies, sometimes even before they came to the big theaters.

Surviving Bill is his daughter, Patti (Wayne) Anderson, Detroit Lakes, MN and a sister Joanne (Dick) Griffin, Riverside, CT. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Dorothy, a brother Dennis Warner and a sister Shirley Hansen.

In honoring Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place and a visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Hanson Runsvold Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Humane Society of the Lakes, 19665 US Hwy 59, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501.
