Kathleen Bruhn passed away Jan.9, 2013, after a long battle with Cancer, at the Providence Hospital in Portland, Oregon.

Kathleen Bruhn passed away Jan.9, 2013, after a long battle with Cancer, at the Providence Hospital in Portland, Oregon.

Kathleen was born July 3, 1928 in North Lamoure to Ingvald and Olga (Grindahl) Smedshammer. She attended grade school in North Lamoure and graduated from Litchville High School in 1946.

On June 20, 1947, Kathleen married Norton A. Tangen. They lived in Valley City, North Dakota and raised 3 children, a daughter, Peggy and 2 sons, Scott and Paul.

Kathleen was a benefit member in the Eagles Auxilary, an active member of the American Legion Auxilary and a Life member of the AmVets Auxiliary.

On September 21, 2002, Kathleen married Lyle Bruhn in Gresham,Oregon.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Lyle Bruhn, daughter, Peggy (Jeff) Pfingsten of Fargo , Sons, Scott (Mary) Tangen of Valley City and Paul J. (Leevon Savageau) Tangen of Fargo, Sister, Sharon (Harlan) Opdahl of Litchville, grandchildren, Darin (Stephanie) Wawers of Detroit Lakes, Brian (Mary) Tangen of Gretna, Nebraska, Chad (Teresa) Tangen of Valley City, Kari (Matt) Chitty of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Carly Jo Tangen of Fargo, Erik Tangen of Chisolm, Minnesota, Ryan and Mikia Savageau of Fargo, and 9 great grandchildren.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Ingvald and Olga Smedshammer, brother, Burton Smedshammer and sister in law, Lois Smedshammer.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on January 18th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gresham, Oregon.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on January 26th at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Valley City, North Dakota.
