James F. Abrahamson
James F. Abrahamson, 88, Fargo, died January 10, 2013 at Manor Care Nursing Home. Born in Valley City he married Karen Knecht in 1943 and they had two daughters. He served in the army in WWII where he received the Soldier's Medal for saving four service men. He was post commander of the VFW and life time member of the American Legion. He was an engineer on the Northern Pacific Railroad for 35 years. He and Karen enjoyed traveling in their motor home and spending time with their grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters Diane LaMont, Mandan, Kathy Tiner-Sewell (Dan), San Francisco, CA: Grandchildren, Jill LaMont Goetz, , Mandan and Mike LaMont (Tracy), Fargo, four great grandchildren, and his sister Shirley Meyer, Valley City. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Karen, brother, Arleigh, grandson, Justin Tiner, and son-in-law Ken LaMont.A celebration of his life will be held at the VFW (202 North Broadway) in Fargo from 11:0
