Kaufmann, 91, of Grand Forks passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.Irene Koehnen was born July 1, 1921 in Grand Forks, the daughter of John and Barbara (Salber) Koehnen. She grew up and attended school at the St. James Academy in Grand Forks. Irene Attended Aakers Business college and was employed at a Grand Forks Attorney’s office. She married Robert Kaufmann on February 5, 1944 in Grand Forks.

Irene Koehnen was born July 1, 1921 in Grand Forks, the daughter of John and Barbara (Salber) Koehnen. She grew up and attended school at the St. James Academy in Grand Forks. Irene Attended Aakers Business college and was employed at a Grand Forks Attorney’s office. She married Robert Kaufmann on February 5, 1944 in Grand Forks.
She is survived by a son, Robert John Kaufmann; daughter, Carla (Richard) Kuppich; grandson, Nicholas (Michele) Kuppich and a granddaughter Katie Rose (Chad) Violet; and four great grand children. Sisters, Mary Burnett, Leona Bagby and Florence Millard. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert; parents, John and Barbara; and sister, Rita Koehnen. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 1:00 PM in Holy Family Catholic Church, 1018 18th Ave. South, Grand Forks. Visitation will be for one hour before the service in the church. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks. An online guest register may be signed atwww.amundsonfuneralhome.
