Blanche Annette Ackerland Sherek, 85, Fargo, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Essentia Health, Fargo.Blanche was born in Park River, North Dakota on September 16, 1927 to John and Bertha (Lunde) Ackerland. She grew up in Park River. Blanche graduated from the North Dakota Public High School in Walsh County on May 20, 1941. She lived in Park River until she married Clement Jacob Sherek on November 21, 1945 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lankin, North Dakota. They farmed near Lankin. In 1952 they moved to Fargo where Clement was employed at Gamble-Robinson.

Blanche Annette Ackerland Sherek, 85, Fargo, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Essentia Health, Fargo.
Blanche was born in Park River, North Dakota on September 16, 1927 to John and Bertha (Lunde) Ackerland. She grew up in Park River. Blanche graduated from the North Dakota Public High School in Walsh County on May 20, 1941. She lived in Park River until she married Clement Jacob Sherek on November 21, 1945 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lankin, North Dakota. They farmed near Lankin. In 1952 they moved to Fargo where Clement was employed at Gamble-Robinson.
Around her 70th birthday in September of 1997 Blanche was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer and was given chemo treatment in October of 1997. She never complained and was courageous and brave. She was in remission for over 15 years and battled numerous other health issues.
Blanche was a loving wife, most wonderful loving, caring, kind, mother, caring and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always concerned about everyone else’s needs.
Blanche will be sadly missed, but heaven gained a treasure and a beautiful angel.
Blanche gave birth to 5 daughters; Judy Kay (Robert) Zeeb, Patricia June (Paul) Peters, Debra Lea (Robert) Alm, Linda Renee (Joseph) Dworshak, Teresa Lyn (Donald) Zon. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren with an additional grandchild on the way in May.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters, and a great-grandson, Tyler Tweten, who passed away in October 16, 2010.
VISITATION: 5-7 PM Friday, February 1, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo.
PRAYER SERVICE: 7 PM Friday, February 1, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11 AM Saturday, February 2, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo.
