Clifford H. “Skip” Mahar, 82, Golden Valley, AZ, formerly of Detroit Lakes, MN, died January 10 in Kingman, AZ. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 3 at the David-Donehower Funeral Home, Curt Fowler, officiating.Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Clifford H. Mahar, known by all as “Skip”, was born July 25, 1930 in St. Paul, MN to Raymond and Delia (Davenport) Mahar. He was raised and educated in Fargo, ND. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1948 – 1953 in Okinawa and later in Oklahoma City, OK. where he met and married Earlene Cook on February 3, 1952. They moved to Perley, MN where they raised their two sons Chuck and Steve, later settling in Callaway, MN. Skip was a highly skilled sheet metal fabricator and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers #10. He retired in 2010 from Paschke Heating and Air Conditioning, it was then that he relocated to Golden Valley, AZ to get his “Kicks on Route 66.”
Skip loved spending his time with his children, granddaughters, brothers, sisters, family and friends. Skip will be dearly missed for his warm and loving “Bear hugs” which he gave so freely. His other interests included: auctions, NASCAR, football, and a good home cooked meal.
Surviving him are his son: Steve and granddaughters, Morgan and Haley Mahar of Detroit Lakes, MN. Daughter-in-law: Earlene Mahar of Golden Valley, AZ., a brother: David (Kay) Mahar of Hickson, ND, three sisters: Dorothy (Floyd) Storsved of Moorhead, MN, Donna (Andrew) Cossette of Fargo, ND and Doris Hartin of Hayward, CA.
In addition to his beloved wife, Earlene in 2005, he was preceded in death by his son: Charles “Chuck” Mahar, a sister: Lucille, a brother: Lee and an infant brother, Phillip. David-Donehower Funeral Home is serving the family. Memories may be shared online at www.daviddonehower.com.
