Michael Alan Rempfer, 62, Bismarck, died February 5, 2013, at his home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Gwinner, ND, with Rev. Kirk Douglas officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Monango, ND.

Michael Alan Rempfer, 62, Bismarck, died February 5, 2013, at his home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Gwinner, ND, with Rev. Kirk Douglas officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Monango, ND.

Visitation will be Friday 5:00 – 9:00 PM at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, ND, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 PM.

Michael was born on February 24, 1950, in Jamestown, ND, the son of Jacob and Ella (Haussler) Rempfer. He attended elementary school in Monango, ND, and graduated from North Sargent High School in 1968. He then attended North Dakota State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy. Michael went to work for the Public Health Service as a pharmacist in Bethesda, MD, then he moved to Zuni, New Mexico, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and finally Wolf Point, MT, where he specialized in Indian public health. Michael retired in 1993 and moved to Bismarck.

He was an avid reader and was actively involved with the Germans from Russia Society in Bismarck. Michael enjoyed researching family history and genealogy. He was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bismarck, ND.

Michael is survived by his mother, Ella Rempfer of Gwinner, ND; his sisters, Cheryl (Chris) Tesar of Columbia Falls, MT, and Dawn (Harvey) Kruckenberg of Fargo, ND; his nieces, Tanya (Dave) Longoria, Jordan Tesar, and Micaela Kruckenberg; his nephew, Parker Kruckenberg; his great-niece and great-nephew, Tess and Gray; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends and relatives across the country.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob.
