Phyllis A. Erickson

Phyllis Ann (Thompson) Erickson, age 72 of Altoona, WI formerly of Fargo and Grand Forks, ND passed away on Saturday February 2, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System Eau Claire, WI.

Phyllis was born February 15, 1940, the youngest child of eight to George and Bergit (Hovet) Thompson. She graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1958 and earned her BA in Fine Arts from the University of North Dakota in 1962. Phyllis was a talented artist who began working at UND doing pen and ink lettering and graphics for the Department of Surgery in the 1970’s and thrived through the transition to computer graphics until her retirement in 1997. After her retirement from the University, Phyllis moved to Fargo, ND and in 2004 moved to the Eau Claire, WI area to be near her grandchildren.

Phyllis is survived by her beloved sons Ethan Erickson and Owen Erickson, her daughter-in-law Leah (Gutensohn) Erickson, grandson Philip Erickson, granddaughter Layne Erickson, brother Merton Thompson, sisters Elaine Olson and Carol Borchert, her dear nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
