Gen Schroeder, 85, Erie, ND died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center, Arthur, ND.Genevieve Ava Rieke was born June 29, 1927 in Fargo, ND to Louis and Era (Burgess) Rieke. She grew up on the family farm near Erie and graduated from Erie High School. She married Robert L. Schroeder Sr. on June 5, 1945 in South Dakota. They made their home near Erie where they farmed for many years and raised seven children. Gen was a member of the homemakers club and enjoyed gardening, baking and sewing.

Gen is survived by her husband, Bob of Arthur; six children, Rick (Connie) Schroeder, Erie, Kathy (John) Eggers, Des Moines, IA, Michael (Geniel) Schroeder, Ayr, ND, Becky Krogsgaard, Casselton, ND, David (Sharon) Schroeder, Pine, CO, and Tes Schroeder, Holmen, WI; daughter-in-law, Linda Schroeder, Arthur; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Louis (Rae) Rieke, Erie and Ralph Rieke, Las Vegas, NV.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bob Jr; grandson, Michael Schroeder; sister, Charlotte Krabbenhoft; and brother, Warren (Marge) Rieke.
The family prefers memorials to the Good Samaritan Center in Arthur.
Memorial Service: Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at 2 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Arthur.
Final Resting Place: Erie Cemetery.
