Elmyra Jacobson

Elmyra Clarice Herringer, daughter of Clarence and Carrie Herringer, was born in Warren, MN, on June 3, 1917. She grew up in Ada, MN, and graduated from Ada High School. She moved with her family to Perley, MN, and attended Moorhead (MN) State Teachers College. After graduation, she taught school in the Hendrum, MN, and the Borup, MN, areas.

On June 20, 1941, Elmyra married Roy Jacobson, at Perley. They made their home in Moorhead where Elmyra worked in the Fairmont Creamery office. After her husband, Roy, died in 1994, she continued to live in Moorhead. In 2011, she moved to Glenwood, MN. She became a resident of Glenwood Retirement Village, where she died on February 21, 2013, at the age of 95.

Elmyra had a strong Christian faith. She loved read, especially her Bible. She also enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Greene, Glenwood; her son, David (Stacy) Jacobson, Mendota Heights, MN; a sister, JoAnn Fiechtner, Moorhead; and three grandchildren, Paul Greene, Katie Jacobson, and Billy Jacobson. In addition to her husband, Roy, she was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, David Herringer.

Elmyra's Memorial Service will be Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at 11 AM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
