Steffes, 63, Fargo, ND, died on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.Richard "Dick" Steffes was born on May 4, 1949 in Fargo, ND to Edward and Catherine (Schroeder) Steffes. He grew up on the family farm in Arthur, ND. He Attended Arthur High School and graduated in 1969. Dick went on to attend NDSU in Fargo and also Minnesota State University Moorhead, obtaining three degrees. Dick farmed with his family for many years until he was diagnosed with MS in 1982. He married Sandy Eggert in Fargo.

Richard "Dick" Steffes was born on May 4, 1949 in Fargo, ND to Edward and Catherine (Schroeder) Steffes. He grew up on the family farm in Arthur, ND. Dick greatly loved playing guitar in the “Gravel Road Band,” and a few others. He had a great sense of humor and loved cracking jokes. He was also an avid NDSU Bison fan and enjoyed watching NCIS and wrestling on television.
He is survived by his siblings, Madalyn (Mike) Reilly, Boise, ID, Bob (Jean) Steffes, Fargo, Elizabeth (Marty) Collins, Lynnwood, WA, Donna (Keith Bosley) Mueller, Mesquite, NV, Paul (Michelle) Steffes, Maple Grove, MN, Kathleen (Dennis) Mogensen, Boise, Germaine (Joe) Paul, Fargo, Phyl Steffes, Edina, MN, Allen (Elaine Jorgenson) Steffes, Fargo, Carlotta (Terry) Dietrich, Oceanside, CA; many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Catherine and wife, Sandy.
Visitation: Thursday from 2 to 3:30 in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
Funeral: Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 3:30 pm in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.
Burial: St. Leo's Cemetery, Casselton, ND.
