Mae Offutt, 96, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, died on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in the nursing home.Mae L. Hord was born on May 2, 1916 in Kansas City, KS, to Pearl and Ruth (Tomlinson) Hord. She grew up and attended school in Orrick, MO, graduating from high school there. Mae married Berch Offutt on December 23, 1935 in Orrick, MO. They moved to a farm near Glyndon, MN, where they farmed for most of their life together. They moved into Moorhead in 1979, and Berch died in September of 1979.

Mae was very focused on her family; she also volunteered for many years at St. Ansgar’s Hospital in Moorhead and was an active member of her church, Grace United Methodist.
She moved to the Fairmont in 2010.
Mae is survived by her sons, Steve, Lady Lake, Florida, and Richard (Charlotte), Summerfield, Florida; daughter Nancy (Ron) Lofgren, Fargo, ND; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Berch, son Dr. Randy Offutt, and sister Audrey.
Visitation: Friday, March 15, 2013, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN, and one hour before the funeral in the church on Saturday.
Funeral: Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. in Grace United Methodist Church, Moorhead.
Interment: Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
