Mary C. Poirier, 78, Fargo passed away March 13, 2013 at Rosewood on Broadway.Mary was born April 17, 1934 in Fargo to John and Gladys (LaVoi) Conway. She grew up in Fargo where she attended St. Mary’s and Shanley, where she graduated from in 1952. Mary worked at a nursery school and at the Broadway Jack & Jill. She worked for NDSU for 11 years, where she was awarded the Gunkelman Award for the most significant and unselfish contribution to creating a happy environment for NDSU students.

Mary married Kenneth in 1956 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fargo. They made their home in Fargo where they raised their family. Kenneth passed away in 1985.
Mary is survived by her children, Virginia (Jim) Borowicz, Omaha, NE, Kent Poirier, Fargo, ND, Timothy (Kim) Poirier, San Antonio, TX, Thomas (Brenda) Poirier, Dayton, MN, Elizabeth (Van) Lass, Glyndon, MN, Maureen (Kyle) Kearns, Fargo, ND, Joan (John) Mracek, Champlin, MN; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; siblings, Helen Jaurequi, Silver City, NM, Patricia Conway, Fargo, ND, William “Bill” (Donna) Conway, Fargo, ND, Ann Conway, Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth, and her brother, Fr. John Jack Conway.
Memorials are preferred to the Sisters of the Presentation or the St. Vincent De Paul Society both of Fargo.
VISITATION: 3-5 PM Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo and one hour prior to the service at the church
PRAYER SERVICE: 5 PM Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10 AM Monday, March 18, 2013 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fargo.
BURIAL: Holy Cross North Cemetery, Fargo
