Dennis A. Wheeler, 60, formerly of Casselton, ND, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013, at his home in Chandler, AZ, after a long battle with cancer.Dennis was born November 29, 1952, in Fargo, ND, and was the son of Harvey and Mary Ann Wheeler. He grew up on the family farm north of Ayr, ND and attended public school in Ayr and Page. He graduated from Page High School in 1970, and attended ND State School of Science where he graduated in 1972 in Auto Body. He worked at Berkey Lincoln Mercury and Jay Davis Chevrolet in Fargo, Offutt Chevrolet and Wally Cassler Chevrolet in Casselton.

Dennis was born November 29, 1952, in Fargo, ND, and was the son of Harvey and Mary Ann Wheeler. He grew up on the family farm north of Ayr, ND and attended public school in Ayr and Page. He graduated from Page High School in 1970, and attended ND State School of Science where he graduated in 1972 in Auto Body. He worked at Berkey Lincoln Mercury and Jay Davis Chevrolet in Fargo, Offutt Chevrolet and Wally Cassler Chevrolet in Casselton.
On August 23, 1975, he was united in marriage to Debra Frank in Lidgerwood, ND. They lived in Casselton, ND, where Dennis began working for Dave’s Welding, which was bought out by KB Welding and Dennis became part owner. He continued to work until 2010 when he retired due to his illness. His hobbies were playing pool, hunting, fishing, and building and driving race cars with his son, Cory.
Survivors include his wife, Debra, Chandler, AZ; daughter, Carissa Wheeler, and son, Cory Wheeler, Casselton, ND; Father, Harvey H. Wheeler, Jr., Ayr, ND, brother Gerald, Ayr, ND, and sister, Donna Wheeler, Fargo, ND; and three grandsons, Seth, Warren and Jace, all Casselton.
Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann (Tootie) Wheeler, and paternal and maternal grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at Martin’s Lutheran Church, Casselton, ND on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Following the service lunch will be served at the Vet’s Club, Casselton, ND.
