Fred Shultz

Frederick “Fred” Michael Shultz, 68, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Essentia Health in Fargo. He was born October 13, 1944 to Mike and Vera Shultz in Sheridan, WY. At the age of 10, he and his family moved to Elliott, ND where he spent the remainder of his childhood. In 1962, he graduated from Lisbon High School. Following graduation, he joined the Army National Guard.

After his time in the service he moved to Fargo. In 1966 he married Loretta Holmstrom and they had two children, Michelle and Michael. In 1967 he joined the Fargo Fire Department where he served for 34 years, retiring in 2001.

In 1984 he married LeeAnn Weber in Hillsboro, ND. They had one child together, Aaron.

Fred loved to spent time outdoors, whether it be fishing, hunting, boating or snowmobiling. In his spare time, he loved to watch NASCAR and all other races. Fred was an avid reader, and read anything he could get his hands on. He also loved to spend time with his friends and family, especially his grandson, Aidden.

He is survived by his wife, LeeAnn; children, Aaron Shultz, Michelle Jimenez, and Michael (Brenda Murray) Shultz; twin sister, Flora (Duane) Sulerud; brother-in-law, Ralph Weber; father-in-law, Lloyd Weber; grandchildren, Aidden, Sam, Dana; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Kimo Jimenez; and mother-in-law, Yvonne Weber.

Memorials preferred to the Humane Society Fargo-Moorhead, Riveredge Hospice, and the Roger Maris Cancer Center.

There will be a memorial service at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Hickson Lutheran Church, Hickson, ND with a visitation one hour prior.
