Edmund D. Albrecht

Edmund “Donnie” Albrecht, 70, of Moorhead, MN formerly of Fargo, ND passed away on Saturday, March 30th at Essentia Health in Fargo after a year of battling cancer (multiple myeloma).

Ed was born December 24th, 1942 to Edmund A. and Florence (Rueb) Albrecht in Eureka, SD. He grew up on a farm near Leola, SD before moving into town for a few years. He later moved to Oakes, ND graduating from Oakes High School in 1960. He married Sharon (Rindahl) of Oakes, ND on March 9th, 1963. The couple settled in Fargo and moved to Moorhead in 2011.

In Fargo, Ed worked at Broadway Pizza, Mathisen Tire, and Nabisco from which he retired after a 34 year career in sales/management in 1997. He and Sharon attended Messiah, St. John and now Atonement Lutheran Church, all in Fargo. Ed enjoyed spending time with family, bowling, golfing, western TV shows/movies, fishing and hunting, playing cards, spending summer weekends at Meadow Lake Campground, and attending Bison athletics as a Bison Teammaker.

Ed is survived by his wife, Sharon, and 3 daughters, Elissa Albrecht (Fargo), Elayna Emin (Fargo), and Mindy (Dave) Beerends (Waukee, IA); two grandsons, Brandon and Ethan Emin (Fargo); a sister, Peggy (David) Dohn (Grand Forks); a sister-in-law, Joann Weber (Mesa, AZ) and several other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Larry and Jeffrey (Eureka, SD).

Visitation: 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, April 4th at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo.

Celebration of Life Service: 2:00 pm Friday, April 5th at Atonement Lutheran Church in Fargo.

Burial service and luncheon to follow.
