Allen L. Coppin, 90 of Hankinson, ND passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hankinson with Rev. Adam Moline officiating and burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and Thursday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers are his grandchildren and honorary pallbearers, his special friends Dave & Wanda Mueller. Organist will be Shala Krump.

Allen Leon Coppin was born March 14, 1923 at Hankinson, ND, the son of Fred & Lydia (Moore) Coppin. He grew up on the farm and attended Hankinson High School. He farmed his adult years on the homestead in Brightwood Township. In 1949 he was united in marriage to Lucille Prochnow. Lucille passed away in 1951. In 1957 he married Greta Aune. After their marriage they lived their entire life on the farmstead. In 1982 Allen retired from farming. Greta passed away in 2008.

Allen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he was president and taught Sunday school & confirmation. He was a member of the Hankinson Fire Department, Ambulance squad & board and on the Brightwood Township Board.

He is survived by his children: Bev (special friend Paul Grohnke) Buckhouse, Hankinson, ND; Paul (Moni) Coppin, Fargo, ND; Mark (Rachel) Coppin, Jamestown, ND & Carol (Dale) Held, Hankinson, ND; eight grandchildren: Mike & Marc Buckhouse, Joel (Andrea) & Jamie (Angela) Coppin, Josh (Jillian) & Dana Coppin, Chris & Ashley Held; 5 great grandchildren: Brayden, Avery, Rylan, Carter & Leanna.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Fred & Lydia, 1st wife: Lucille, 2nd wife: Greta, sister: Marjorie, brothers: John, Russell & Bill; son-in-law: Dale Buckhouse & granddaughter: Nicole.
