Orville Dwight Suhumskie

Orville Dwight Suhumskie, 86, Lisbon, ND died Tuesday April 30, 2013 in his home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Orville was born on July, 1 1926 on the family farm near Lisbon, ND. He attended country school in Bale Township. He married Alice Burchill on August 20, 1953. They made their home on the family farm where they raised their four daughters. Besides his wife and daughters he loved God and the land he farmed. He served on the Bale Township board for 39 years. In 2010, he and Alice moved to Lisbon but he continued to make frequent visits to the family farm to lend a helping hand.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Alice; four daughters, Diane (Gary) Myers, Sartell, MN, Eileen (Calvin) Myers, Parshall, ND, Pearl (Steve) Stockwell, Milnor, ND, Anita (John) Cobb, Lumsden, SK Canada; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Ardell, of Missouri; one sister Dyrrel Jensen, Waukesha, WI, one sister-in-law, Doris Suhumskie, of Missouri, one brother-in-law, Marvin Hopewell, of Milbank, SD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, numerous other family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Earl and Hulda and his sister, Dorothy Hopewell.

Visitation: Friday, May 3 from 6 pm-8 pm at Armstrong Funeral Home, Lisbon.

Funeral: Saturday, May 4 at 11 am in the National Guard Armory, Lisbon.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon.
