Dolores A. King, 88, Casselton, ND died on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Dolores Ann Schafer was born July 3, 1924 at Argusville, ND to Harry and Irene (Daschner) Schafer. She graduated from high school in Argusville. Dolores married Robert L. King on June 25, 1947 in Fargo. They made their home in Fargo until 1950 when they moved to Casselton. They owned and operated the Casselton Dairy Queen from 1950 to 1990. Bob died in 2001.

Dolores Ann Schafer was born July 3, 1924 at Argusville, ND to Harry and Irene (Daschner) Schafer. She graduated from high school in Argusville. Dolores married Robert L. King on June 25, 1947 in Fargo. They made their home in Fargo until 1950 when they moved to Casselton. They owned and operated the Casselton Dairy Queen from 1950 to 1990. Bob died in 2001.

Dolores enjoyed going to local sporting events and gardening in her earlier years. In recent years, she never let her physical challenges interrupt her daily living. She most loved spending time with family and friends, and having coffee at Kerry’s.

She is survived by four sons, Michael and Stephen, both Casselton, Robert P. (Helen), Brooklyn Park, MN, and Mark, Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Eileen King, Casselton; four grandchildren, Amy King, Eric (Ashley) King, Kara (Mikal) Ihry and Jason (Crystal) King; three great grandchildren, Bryce, Abby and Damien; siblings, Marie Wadeson, West Fargo and Harry Schafer, Fargo.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Chris King; great granddaughter, Michaela; and siblings, LuVerne Schafer, Kathyrn Oleson, and Marjorie Meyers.

Visitation: Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 5 to 6 PM with a prayer service at 6 PM at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Casselton.

Funeral Mass: Wednesday at 11 AM at St. Leo’s Catholic Church.

Burial: St. Leo’s Cemetery.

Arrangements with West Funeral Home, Casselton.
