Arthur V. Wenner, 88, Moorhead, MN, died on Saturday, May 11, 2013, in Eventide Lutheran Home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Arthur Vernon Wenner was born on August 16, 1924, near Hitterdal, MN, to Albin and Olga (Hitterdal) Wenner. He grew up and attended school there, graduating from Hitterdal High in 1942. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines during and after WWII in the Pacific and the West Indies. He moved to Moorhead in 1946, where he has lived since.

Arthur Vernon Wenner was born on August 16, 1924, near Hitterdal, MN, to Albin and Olga (Hitterdal) Wenner. He grew up and attended school there, graduating from Hitterdal High in 1942. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines during and after WWII in the Pacific and the West Indies. He moved to Moorhead in 1946, where he has lived since.

Art married Marie W. Dauner on April 12, 1947, in Hawley Lutheran Church, Hawley, MN.

He worked for Dakota Electric Supply from 1946 until 1948 and then, from 1948 until 1985, worked for Moorhead Public Service as the operating engineer at the Moorhead Power Plant.

Marie died on January 3, 2005.

Art was a member of the American Legion Club in Moorhead, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the Sons of Norway, and Trinity Lutheran Church.

He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and loved to travel.

He is survived by his children, Sandra M. (Alex) Yeaman, San Diego, CA, Wayne R. (Julie) Wenner, Jamestown, ND, Joan D. (Dick) Kruse, Vadnais Heights, MN, Roger A. Wenner, Felton, MN, Bruce M. (Kathy) Wenner, Blaine, MN; Daughter-in-law Lori Wenner, Moorhead, MN; sister Myrtle Swanson, Moorhead, MN; fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; son Brian; grandson Cole, four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation: Tuesday, May 14, 2013, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.

Funeral: Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at 11:00 A.M., in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.

Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
