Mary Leith, age 92, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, in Woodside Village Nursing home, Grand Forks. N.D.

Mary Alice Connelly was born November 14, 1920 in Lawton, N.D., the daughter of Patrick and Edith (Fifer) Connelly. She was educated at the Newbre Township school.

Mary Leith, age 92, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, in Woodside Village Nursing home, Grand Forks. N.D.

Mary Alice Connelly was born November 14, 1920 in Lawton, N.D., the daughter of Patrick and Edith (Fifer) Connelly. She was educated at the Newbre Township school.

She married Kenneth Leith on June 28, 1937. They farmed and raised their seven children near Lakota, N.D. From 1957-1961 they lived in Minot, N.D. They then returned to their farm where they lived until 1981 when they retired and moved to Fargo.

Mary was devoted to her Catholic faith. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Alter Society. She taught CCD for many years and was the principle of the CCD program.

She was active in many of her children’s school activities including Band Mothers, PTA, and avidly followed their band and sports activities.

Mary loved her farm. Each spring she planted a huge garden and canned innumerable quarts of produce in the fall.

She was a proficient seamstress, sewing most of her children’s clothing through the years, and crocheting afghans for each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary is survived by children, Dennis, Minot, ND, Dale (Valerie), Owatonna, MN, Mary Beth, Grand Forks, ND, Judy (Lance) Sateren, Bismarck, ND, Jim (Paul Good), Golden Valley, MN, Anne (Marty) Riske, Fargo, ND, David (Betty) Stanley, ND; 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth, her daughter-in-law, Mary Louise (Anderson) Leith, great-grandson Brent Allen Weston, her parents, four brothers and two sisters

VISITATION: 5-7 PM Wednesday at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo – and also one hour prior to the service in the church on Thursday

PRAYER SERVICE: 7 PM Wednesday at Boulger Funeral Home

FUNERAL MASS: 10 AM Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in West Fargo, ND

BURIAL: Holy Cross North Cemetery in Fargo
