Levi Carlson of Nome, ND went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 16, 2013. Levi died with family at his side.

Levi was born on January 16, 1919 to Henry and Annie Carlson in their family home in Preston Township ND. He attended Libak School through the eighth grade then farmed with his father near Nome, ND.

Levi Carlson of Nome, ND went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 16, 2013. Levi died with family at his side.

Levi was born on January 16, 1919 to Henry and Annie Carlson in their family home in Preston Township ND. He attended Libak School through the eighth grade then farmed with his father near Nome, ND.

He entered the Army in 1941 and served in the Pacific Theatre. He was discharged at Ft. Lewis Washington in January 1946 and returned home to continue farming. He married Elsie Wrede in 1948 and they raised 5 daughters.

Levi is survived by his children Esther (Glen) Rockwell Seattle, WA.; Eunice Carlson , Davis CA; DeLoris (Darold) Zenker, Mandan ND; Naomi Foster, Seattle, WA.; Carol (Duane) Wadeson, Leonard ND and his grandchildren Abe and Anthony Zenker; Diane and JoAnne Rockwell; Nick Fields (Katie), Rochester MN. and two great -grandchildren Ava and Allie Fields.

Levi's passions were farming, his faith and his family. He was involved in many community groups including the local and state school board, the Gideon's, Cooperstown Bible Camp, Ransom County Farm Bureau, the State Wheat commission, the State Sunflower Board, politics and his church. In his younger years he enjoyed trapping and chopping wood. After his retirement, he was very proud to graduate High School. He and Elsie spent many winters in Arizona where he enjoyed golfing, friends, sunshine and warm weather.

Levi was man of integrity, principles and hard work.

Levi was preceded in death by his wife Elsie, a daughter Karen, his parents, brothers Seth and Paul and sisters Cora, Ruth, and Harriet, and son-in-law Chris Stuart.

Visitation will be Thursday June 20, 2013 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Armstrong Funeral Home, Enderlin ND.

Funeral Services will be held at Elim Evangelical Free Church in Valley City on Friday June 21, 2013 at 10:30 am.
