Diane Haugen, age 54 of Dilworth, Minnesota died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 19.

Diane was born December 17, 1958 to Vince and Shirley Haugen. She grew up in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1977. In 1981, she graduated from NDSU.

Diane had many jobs in sales, including at WDAY, Coca-Cola, Proctor and Gamble and Abbott Pharmaceuticals. Later, she fulfilled a dream, owning and operating the restaurant Dreamers, a south Moorhead favorite. Famous for her mozzarella sticks, sliders, and cookie dough cups, she annually welcomed classes from Probstfield on spring field trips. Diane had a kind, generous heart and she loved every day she was at Dreamers. Most recently, she had been doing property management in the F-M area.

Diane loved spending time with family and friends. Always a dependable source of delicious cheesecake, monster cookies and queso dip, she enjoyed and excelled at cooking and baking. She was known lovingly as "the fudge lady." Diane was happiest at the lake, riding bike and doing anything outside. She was an avid knitter and tried to teach many of her friends the skill.

Diane was a special aunt to Bryce, Paul, and Andrea Haugen (Moorhead, MN), Kayla and Bryan Krause (Atlanta, GA) and Emily, Olivia, Andrew, and Audrey Haugen (Fairmont, MN). She was sister to Dean (Pat) Haugen, Darla (Bill) Krause and Darin (Lori) Haugen. She was a loving daughter to Vince and Shirley.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Hazel and Oscar Ernst and Olaf and Myrtle Haugen as well as an uncle, Arlen Haugen.

Memorial Gathering Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. A celebration of Diane's life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 24 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Moorhead. Interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Moorhead.
