Bernadette was a successful Realtor in Fargo, ND for over 17 years. They raised their family in Fargo, but her love of the beautiful weather and ocean drew them to San Diego in 1987.

Bernadette was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all. (Truly more than just a wife.) She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She loved to play cards, board games and was an excellent bowler. Her positive attitude and zest for life helped her battle debilitating arthritis for over 40 years, rarely voicing a complaint. Bernadette will always be remembered for her gracious heart, contagious smile and caring soul.

She is survived by her son, Jon (Celeste) Eide, Minneapolis, MN: two daughters, Paula Eide, San Marcos, CA, Kay (Ralph) Merg, San Diego, CA, a son-in-law, Keith (Diana) Peterson, Cypress, TX, granddaughter, Allison Eide, Minneapolis, MN, Jacob Peterson and Emma Peterson, Cypress, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olaf "Clyde" Eide, sister, Josephine Hanson, daughter, Kim Peterson, granddaughter, Andrea Eide. She will be missed by her family and friends. Per her wishes, no formal memorial services will take place. Her ashes were interred with her husband at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, Point Loma, CA (San Diego, CA)

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of San Diego at (619) 299-4200.
