Jennie (Jane) Bommersbach

Jennie (Jane) Bommersbach, 89, passed away on June 29, 2013 at Missouri Slope Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, July 13 at 10 AM with visitation from 9-10 AM and rosary at 9 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mandan. Burial will be in Hankinson, ND on July 20.

Jennie was born on June 22, 1924 in Wahpeton, ND to William and Jennett (Minnehan) Campbell. She grew up on a farm near Fairmount ND. She married Joseph Bommersbach in 1945 in Fairmount.

Jennie was born on June 22, 1924 in Wahpeton, ND to William and Jennett (Minnehan) Campbell. She grew up on a farm near Fairmount ND. She married Joseph Bommersbach in 1945 in Fairmount.

On August 2, 1967, Jane had a kidney transplant in which she received a kidney from her brother, Bill Campbell. This act of love extended her life for almost 46 years and her kidney was still working well at the time of her death. She was one of the longest living transplants out of Mayo Clinic. It was a real blessing!

Jennie is survived by her son, Bruce (Glenda), Hankinson and her daughters Jo, Buena Vista, NM and Kathy, aka Katie (Michael Fisher), Bismarck. She has 5 grandsons, Joel (Wendy), Fargo, Jed, Moorhead, Jade, Harwood, Jon, Hankinson and Jesse D., Buena Vista, NM. She also has 2 great granddaughters, Taylor and Ally and great grandson, Jake, all of Fargo. She is also survived by her brother Steve, Breckinridge MN, 2 sisters Teresa (Bernard) Schmanski, Madison SD, and Mabel (Harvey) Hagen, Spokane Valley, WA and 2 sisters-in-law Dina Campbell, Fairmount ND and Evelyn Campbell, Bismarck ND and many nieces and nephews.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, brothers Edward and Bill Campbell and sister-in-law Marnie Campbell.
