Robert “Rob” Ekerberg, 44, West Fargo, ND died on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Kindred Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Robert Allen Ekerberg was born in Fargo on June 17, l969 to his parents, Barbara Stephens and Bob Ekerberg. Rob grew and lived in Fargo, a few years in Surrey, ND, and then back to West Fargo where he graduated from high school.

Robert “Rob” Ekerberg, 44, West Fargo, ND died on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Kindred Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Robert Allen Ekerberg was born in Fargo on June 17, l969 to his parents, Barbara Stephens and Bob Ekerberg. Rob grew and lived in Fargo, a few years in Surrey, ND, and then back to West Fargo where he graduated from high school.

He spent some time in the National Guard, returning to Fargo where he worked for Home Depot for many years before leaving to persue other retail management opportunities. Rob’s illness prevented him from working outside his home for his final two years of life.

Rob met Jodee Rieth through her brother (his friend) Chad Rieth and they fell in love

and were married in West Fargo. Rob and Jodee were blessed with their son Jordan in August of l995 while living briefly in Chicago. Jodee and Jordan have been the love of his life and were always by his side during this long ordeal.

Rob had many interests and hobbies that included: following Nascar, Bison and Vikings football, camping with his family, and singing karaoke with friends and family.

Courageously fighting his disease of a brain tumor for 17 years. Rob endured many surgeries and treatments to remove his recurring tumor. He participated in research studies for understanding, treatment, and a cure for his unique tumor through the Mayo Clinic.

Rob was preceded in death by his grandfathers Harold Benner and Richard Ekerberg.

Rob is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jodee, and son, Jordan, father, Bob Ekerberg ,mother Barbara Stephens, brother Randy and his wife Carole, mother in law and father in law, Jane and Rodney Rieth, brother inlaws Robeo and Chad and wife Dana, and maternal grandmother, Elaine Benner. Rob has many loving cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles as well as many many friends.

Rob will be so missed and always admired for his courage with his illness and his dedication to his family.

Visitation: Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013 from 6 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Funeral: Friday at 11 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior.
