Garry E. Greuel, 77, Casselton, ND died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo.

Garry was born Feb. 2, 1936 in Fargo, ND to Edwin and Pearl (Saar) Greuel. He attended local grade school and graduated from Chaffee High School in 1953. After graduation, he attended Interstate Business College and was a member of the Air National Guard in Fargo from 1954 to 1962. Garry married Harriet Peterson of Chaffee on Aug. 15, 1959. They lived and farmed on the family farm until retiring in 2001. They moved into Casselton and enjoyed winters in Mesa, AZ.

He served on numerous boards in the community including Chaffee Lynchburg Elevator, Leonard Oil Company, Watson Cemetery and a charter member of Chaffee Lions. He was a lifelong member of the Goshen Moravian Church and served on the church council. He enjoyed golfing, singing, and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Harriet; sister, Doris Pagel, Fargo; brother, Merlin Greuel, Lodi, CA; many nieces and nephews; and three special friends who were very close to his heart, Paula Glasow, Tim and Scott Radloff. He was preceded in death by his parents; step dad, Elmer and half-brother, Wesley.

Visitation: Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 5-7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Prayer Service: Thursday at 7 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial Service: Friday at 11 AM at Goshen Moravian Church, rural Durbin, ND.

Final Resting Place: Watson Cemetery, rural Leonard.
