LuAnn Eliece (Lulu) Thompson

On August 8th, 2013 Our Heavenly Father reached out his hand to Lulu, said take my hand and walk with me to eternal peace where there is no pain. She took his hand and walked peacefully with him.

LuAnn Eliece (Lulu) Thompson passed away at the Benedictine Care Community of Ada at the age of 63. She was born March 6, 1950 to Oris and Fradie Bentley of Twin Valley, MN. She was fortunate to be able to live her first 18 years of life at one place. Lulu was baptized, confirmed and married at Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley. After graduating high school in 1968 Lulu enrolled at the Bethesda School of Nursing, Crookston MN. She graduated in 1969. Passing her boards she began working at the Ada Municipal Hospital. This began over a 30 year career as an LPN. Another career she embarked on started January 3, 1970 when invited to an evening get together at a friend, LuVerne Thompson, she was introduced to a “Guy” by the name of Lowell Thompson. After an awkward beginning, Lulu and Lowell were married 1 ½ years later, June 5, 1971.

There were many highs and lows in Lulu’s life. She conquered some, but the health issues continued to plague her and the stroke, June 30th, 2006 was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Lulu was preceded in death by her parents, Oris W. and Fradie E (Skaurud) Bentley and a very special brother in-law S. Arnie Bogenreif.

She is survived by her caring husband of 42 years Lowell and a twin son and daughter, Nathan (Buffy), Ada and Tricia (Charles Aidoo) Ada. Brother Ordean (Bernadene) Bentley, Twin Valley, MN, sister Cleone (Steve) Proehl, Mankato, MN. Grandsons: Braden and Zander Thompson with another Thompson grandchild expected around October 24. Sister-in-laws Janice Leppala, Virginia MN and Delane Stene Ada. Brother-in-law Ron Thompson, Ada.

Funeral Service: 11:00am Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada.

Visitation: 5-7pm Monday at the church with a 6:30 prayer service.

Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
