Eleanor Ford, age 92, Grafton, ND and formerly of Park River, ND and Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.

Eleanor Jeanette Boe was born September 7, 1920 in Fortuna, ND to Selmer D and Ruth (Olson) Boe. She grew up in Fortuna and attended Fortuna Public Schools. The family relocated to Fargo, ND where Eleanor graduated from Oak Grove High School.

Eleanor Jeanette Boe was born September 7, 1920 in Fortuna, ND to Selmer D and Ruth (Olson) Boe. She grew up in Fortuna and attended Fortuna Public Schools. The family relocated to Fargo, ND where Eleanor graduated from Oak Grove High School.

Eleanor received her degree in Home Economics Education from North Dakota State University (NDAC). She taught public school in Northwood, ND, Wahpeton, ND, and through the ND Extension service in Dickinson, ND. She married Kenneth Ford on December 29, 1946 in Kindred, ND. They made their home in Dickinson, ND; Bloomington, MN; then settled in Grand Forks, ND where they raised their four daughters.

Eleanor taught Home Economics at the University of North Dakota and in the Grand Forks Public School system. She was a member of the NDEA and NDVA. She was a 4-H leader, a member of Homemakers, PEO, Park River Hospital Auxiliary, First Presbyterian Church in Grand Forks and various garden clubs. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, oil painting and traveling. Upon retirement, she and Kenneth wintered in Mesa, AZ.

Eleanor loved most her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters: Jeanette (B. Leigh) Trosen, Fargo, ND; Karen (James) Lueck, Green Valley, AZ; Sandra (Stephen) Vining, Dayton, OH; Aileen (James) Wheaton, Columbus, OH; one granddaughter and eight grandsons and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Harvey Boe.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 1:30 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River, ND.
