Louise Rostad

Louise Rostad, age 85, peacefully passed away August 19 at Augustana Care Center in Minneapolis. Louise Jeanette Hanson was born November 24th, 1927, the daughter of Roy and Clara (Olson) Hanson in Pelican Rapids. She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1945. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead in 1946, where she studied art. She married Wilford Rostad June 5, 1948. For over 17 years, she worked at Trinity Lutheran as secretary. Louise was committed to a faithful life filled with much love. She gave her children a rich legacy of care and expressed her concern for others in so many thoughtful and special ways. Her lively laugh and smile expressed her welcoming hospitality. Her deep interest in her extended family, friends, neighbors and community brought much light into their lives, especially in times of crisis. She enjoyed playing her old upright piano and singing popular songs.

Louise is survived by her four children Larry Rostad, Barb Rostad (Bob Litke), Dale Rostad, (Staney) all the from the Minneapolis area, and Dennis Rostad (Lorrie) from Little Rock, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Shannon, Danielle, Grant, Mitch,Mickey, and Heather; sisters Edna Carlson (Gust) and Nell Sponheim (Paul), brother Robert Hanson (Jane) all of St.Paul. Preceding her in death were her sister Lillian Kuhn (Bill) and her brother Ivan (Dorothy).

Burial: Ringsaker Cemetery, Rural Pelican Rapids, MN

A second memorial service will be held at Augustana Care Center, Mpls in the near future.
