Gunver "Goodie" Hertsgaard

Goodie passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Sanford Palliative Care Unit surrounded by her family.

Gunver Jordheim was born on April 11, 1919, the daughter of Knute and Rosine (Bakko) Jordheim in Walcott, ND. She grew up in this area and graduated from Grand Forks High School. Goodie was united in marriage to Kermit Hertsgaard on October 6, 1944. They made their home on a farm near Kindred where they raised their family. Kermit passed away in 1961. Goodie worked at Black’s Clothing Store in Fargo, and for many years at Cass County Electric. Goodie will be remembered for her outgoing personality, her love of people, the many pies and birthday cakes she made, and her role as a caregiver. She always had a smile and looked forward to spending time with her family and many friends she made over the years.

Goodie is survived by her children – Rebecca Hertsgaard of Chandler, AZ; Kathryn (Daryl) Peterson of Fargo; Virginia (David) Nordenstrom of Mora, MN; and Ira Hertsgaard of Fargo; her grandchildren – Sondra (Christopher) Bergem, Jana (Bob) Erickson, Karen Nordenstrom, and Kati (Nick) Printon; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, her husband, and her grandson, Darin Peterson .

VISITATION: 6:30 – 8 PM Friday at Fredrikson-Boulger Funeral Chapel in Kindred, ND – and also one hour prior to the service in the church on Saturday

PRAYER SERVICE: 8 PM Friday at Fredrikson-Boulger Funeral Chapel

FUNERAL SERVICE: 11 AM Saturday at Kindred Lutheran Church

BURIAL: Kindred Cemetery
