Robert "Bob" J. Roscoe

Robert "Bob" J. Roscoe, 80, Fargo, passed away Tuesday September 10, 2013 at Sanford Health.

Robert was born May 9, 1933 in Jamestown, North Dakota to John T. and Dorothy (Schmid) Roscoe. The family made their home in Montpelier, ND before moving to Dickey in 1944. He graduated in 1951 from Dickey High School. After graduation from high school he attended NDSU. He went home and worked for 6 months in the elevator. Robert attended Ellendale College for a time before enlisting in the army in 1953. He was stationed in Korea. Robert was discharged in 1956 as a sergeant. He started working with the Fargo Police Department in 1956. He married Jerry Cuypers on September 23, 1980 in Jamestown. He retired in 1989 as Police Captain after 33 years. After retirement he worked for the Federal Courts as Court Security Officer retiring on January 24, 2005.

Robert was a member of the Moose Lodge, VFW, American Legion, AMVets and Disabled American Veterans.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning the best salsa and pickles. He was known for his wonderful deer sausage.

He is survived by his son, Todd (Supinda) Roscoe, Alpharetta, GA; daughter, Tami Bem, Arthur, IA; stepdaughter, Gigi (Vern) Heltemes, Moorhead, MN; brother, Neil (Eva) Roscoe; sister, Shirley (Vernon) Williams, Fargo; grandchildren, Shane, Jody, Trinity, Trevor, Matthew, Dustin, Misty, Kristin, Kaleigh; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerry, parents, and daughters, Vickie and Roberta.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Dickey Cemetery.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 7:30 PM Friday, September 13, 2013 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo with visitation one hour prior

BURIAL: 2 PM Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Dickey Cemetery, Dickey, ND
