Connie White, 68, Stirum, ND died October 5 at Parkside Lutheran Nursing Home surrounded by friends and family after a courageous battle with brain and lung cancer.

Connie White, 68, Stirum, ND died October 5 at Parkside Lutheran Nursing Home surrounded by friends and family after a courageous battle with brain and lung cancer.

Connie was born January 8, 1945 in Oakes, ND to Edward and Marie (Harness) Robins. She attended Oakes Public School. In 1962, she married Roger White and together they had two children: Tracey and Paul.

Connie worked at Melroe Manufacturing (Bobcat) until 1972 and then took on full-time homemaking and farming. She retired from farming in 2006. Connie was active in the Stirum Community Club, wrote the Stirum News, active member of the GA Women's Group, car club and Mason & Shiner's events. Grandma Connie always made herself available to volunteer and participate at the school for her grandchildren's activities.

Connie always looked forward to the warm months to spend time on her lawn, gardening and golfing with friends.

Connie is survived by her two children Tracey (Jerry) Waswick and Paul (Jennifer) White all of Gwinner, ND. Connie adored her grandchildren; Shane and Dustin White, Emily (Fiancé Josh Harrison), Sarahbeth and Ben Waswick. She is also survived by two sisters Ramona (Kenneth) Bartl, Gwinner, ND and Roberta (Jack) Klinkhammer, Alexandria, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger, one brother (Jim), sister (Bonnie) and her parents.

Funeral services for Connie will be Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Gustaf Adolf Lutheran Church, Gwinner. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm with a prayer service following at 7:00 pm held at Armstrong Funeral Home in Lisbon. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Lisbon following the funeral.
