Wilfred was born at Kindred, ND to Oscar and Mary Clemenson. He grew up in the Horace area and attended the Horace school.

Wilfred was born at Kindred, ND to Oscar and Mary Clemenson. He grew up in the Horace area and attended the Horace school.

In February 1949, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in September 1953 at the rank of staff sergeant after serving four and one-half years.

Wilfred married Virginia Anderson of Moorhead, MN at Fort Sumner, NM on 8, March 1951.

In 1956 he joined the ND Air National Guard (Happy Hooligans) and served 29 years as the base fire chief and was discharged in 1985 at the rank of senior-master sergeant.

He enjoyed fishing on Big Pine Lake where he and Virginia owned a cottage. He also enjoyed singing Karaoke which he took up after losing the ability to play guitar due to arthritis.

Wilfred was a member of the Fargo American Legion Post 2, Voiture 240 of the 40 and 8, Sons of Norway of Fargo and a life member of the Retired Enlisted Association.

He is survived by a son and four daughters, Curtis Clemenson, San Jose, Costa Rica, Bonnie (Richard) Wills, Bellaire, TX, Vicki (Mark) Onstad, Santa Fe, NM, Diane (John) Harlan and Tammy (Gary) Culver, both of Longmont, CO. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Lauren and Nicholas Wills, James and Signe Onstad, Thomas Culver and Samuel Harlan. He is also survived by brothers, Oliver and Marvin Clemenson; and sisters, Betty Lein and Emily Olson; and friend and Karaoke partner, Addie Wise.

Wilfred is preceded in death by parents; wife, Virginia on 23 April 2007; brother Edwin, Allen (Harpo), Andwick, Vernon, Herman, and Willis Clemenson.

In lieu of a memorial service or funeral, Wilfred preferred that you think of him with JOY and contribute gifts to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
