Eloise (Johnson) Noble

Eloise (Johnson) Noble, age 100 years, 5 months and 4 days, of Eden Prairie MN, formerly of Page and Fargo ND, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013. She will be deeply missed by her family – daughter, Kay (Donald) Mariotti, Eden Prairie, son, Jim (Janet) Noble, Clintonville, WI, and daughter, Margo (Murray) McIntyre, Oklahoma City, OK. Eloise is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Eloise graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 1933. She married James Noble and the couple farmed at Page, ND until 1960. In the late 1960’s, she returned to college and then worked at Sharp Elementary School in Moorhead as a librarian until retiring in 1979. In 2004, she moved to Eden Prairie to be near her family where she resided in assisted living until the time of her death. Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Cecelia Johnson and her sister, Vivian Wright. Eloise and her family and friends celebrated her 100th birthday in July with a reunion. Her oldest grandchild said of her: “She lived an awesome life for a woman of her time. She was a college graduate. She had a master’s degree in library science and she was a career woman. She taught her grandchildren to read, paid the boys to hunt snakes in her garden, sewed us doll clothes, edited our college papers and gave us all a kick in the butt when necessary! We love you grammy!” Memorial Service: Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11 AM at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo with reception following.
