Bonnie R. Zirnhelt, 72 of Lisbon, North Dakota, died suddenly on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Lisbon Area Health Services. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 1 from 5-7 pm at Armstrong Funeral Home; with prayer service at 8 pm at St. Aloysius Catholic Church Lisbon. The funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 2 at 10:30 am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, burial at Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon. Arrangements by Armstrong Funeral Home, Lisbon ND.

Bonnie was born April 15, 1941 at Breckenridge MN to John and Lola Poss.

Bonnie was born April 15, 1941 at Breckenridge MN to John and Lola Poss.

Bonnie grew up in Breckenridge MN and graduated from Breckenridge High School. She moved to Moorhead MN and worked at St. Ansgar in Moorhead. Bonnie married Bob Zimny October 27, 1962, they had two children, Jason(Heather ) Zimny, East Grand Forks MN and Shannon (Mike) Stueber, Lisbon ND. They farmed near Glyndon MN and then farmed near Milnor ND for a short time. They owned and operated the Cattlemen's Club in Lisbon ND.

Bonnie was an active member of St. Aloysius Church and volunteered at Ransom County Food Pantry.

Bonnie married Ray Zirnhelt on April 9, 1988 at Lisbon. With this union the family was extended with 4 step children, Clair (Ronda) of Grand Forks, Peggy(Darrel) Waloch of Lisbon, Kay Zirnhelt of West Fargo, Debbie(Joe) Billing of Lisbon. Bonnie and Ray continued to operate the Cattlemen's Club. She later worked for Parkside Lutheran Nursing Home, ND Veterans Home and Hospice of the Red River Valley as a CNA and volunteer.

Bonnie's sense of humor, quick wit and harmless pranks were enjoyed by many. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends, collecting roosters, and spending time at the lakes in Minnesota over the years. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends. She especially enjoyed her weekly adventures with her special group of friends and bible study group on Sundays.

Bonnie is survived by her six children, grandchildren: Nikki Daniels, Denny Waloch, Missy Schmidt, Bob Billing, Alicia Sorby, Matt Zirnhelt, Janna Roughead, Tom Zirnhelt, Karlene Lorenz, Cassie Carter, Morgan and Emma Zimny and 16 great grandchildren, and special companion Zoey. Also surviving her is one sister Jeanette(Maynard) Nelson, Shakopee MN and one brother John(Lucy) Poss, Albuquerque, NM, one brother in law Don Zirnhelt, Forman and one sister in law Phyllis Grossinger, Delano MN, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, her parents, and infant son and daughter.
