Samantha Dawn Wickenheiser (Sam, Sammy), 23, was residing at 1105 7th Ave. N. Fargo, ND, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend, died at her apartment on Saturday, November 23, 2013. Her life was taken from us tragically and too soon.

Samantha was born May 11, 1990, in Fargo, N.D., the daughter of John and Carol (Stangeland) Wickenheiser. She was raised in Kindred, N.D. and graduated from Kindred High School in 2008 where she enjoyed art, music, basketball, volleyball, cheering on her classmates, and making memories with friends. She had a great love for animals and at one time aspired to become a veterinarian.

She had a great love for animals and at one time aspired to become a veterinarian.

Sam very much enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, tubing, four-wheeling, and hanging out with her cousins. Sammy had many close friends she enjoyed spending time with. She had a great sense of humor, and infectious smile, and was kind to all she knew. She loved her children and family with all of her heart. She was such a wonderful, caring, and beautiful person, inside and out.

Samantha is survived by her parents, John and Carol Wickenheiser (Horace, ND), her sons, Korbin and Blake (Horace, ND), her grandma Viola Mikula (Britton, SD), her grandparents Cecil and Enid Stangeland (New Effington, SD), her older sister Jasmine Carolyn and fiancé Cameron Ercink (Fargo, ND), and her brother Logan John (Horace, ND). Samantha was also blessed with numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, niece, and many friends.

Samantha is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Ernest and Ada Pearson, Thora and Albert Stangeland, John and Elizabeth Wickenheiser, Jim and Dolly Honcik, Carl F. and Frances Mikula, grandfathers Andrew Wickenheiser and Carl Mikula, and cousins Stevi Fichtner and Adam Peters.

The funeral service for Samantha Wickenheiser will be held at Living Waters Lutheran Church Wednesday, November 27th, at 2 p.m. with Paster Bob Bekkerus officiating. Pallbearers will be uncles Mark, Terry, and David Wickenheiser, Jim Wilson, Bill Peters, Paul Snaza, and Kevin and Chris Stangeland. The prayer service will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Living Waters Lutheran Church, Fargo with visitation starting at 6:00 p.m.
