Clarence (Ed) Brewer
Clarence (Ed) Brewer was born August 28, 1924 near Champaign, IL, the son of Ray and Gladys Brewer. The family later moved to La Porte, MN, and Ed moved to North Dakota in 1943. He enlisted in the US Navy, serving two years. Returning to ND, he met the love of his life, Gladys Hanson, and they were married June 11, 1950. They moved to Fargo in 1953, where Ed joined the Fargo Fire Department. He served as a firefighter for 36 years, retiring in 1990. Ed was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Ed died on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at his home at Edgewood Vista in Fargo.

Wilbert Hofmann
Wilbert Hofmann, 85, Jamestown, ND, formerly of Medina, ND, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Wilbert was born November 18, 1927 in Medina, the son of Jacob P. and Mathilda (Mueller) Hofmann. He attended rural country school in Peterson Township thru 8th grade. He enlisted in the US Army on February 21, 1951 and served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on January 28, 1953 and returned to North Dakota. On October 4, 1953 he married Nyra Jean Johnson at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pettibone, ND. They farmed northwest of Medina until 2005 when they moved into Medina. Nyra passed away May 9, 2010. Wilbert entered Roseadele in January 2011 and lived there until his passing.

Dolores J. Johnson
Dolores J. Johnson, 87, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, in Sanford Health’s Palliative Care Center. Dolores Lundberg was born January 2, 1926 in Ulen, MN, to Oliver and Arnolda (Holte) Lundberg. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ulen. Dolores attended grade school in Page, ND, and graduated from Ulen High School in 1943. On May 31, 1946, she married John L. Johnson. Together they had three sons. Over the years, Dolores worked several jobs including waitress, linotype operator, mail clerk and carrier, and retired as deputy county auditor for Norman County in 1988. John and Dolores also owned the Quickie Lunch in Ada, MN for 7 years, and they enjoyed many summers at McCraney Lake near Waubun. John passed away on Oct 30, 1999. Dolores was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, Sons of Norway, and Ada VFW Auxilliary. Dolores was honored to volunteer at the V.A. Hospital in Fargo and received a 20 year service award.

Dolores is survived by three sons, James of Miles City, MT, Mark (Elizabeth) of St. Cloud, MN, and Ronald of Red Wing, MN; ten grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

Margaret Ann (Peggy) Mickelson
Mickelson, Margaret Ann (Peggy) died peacefully at home on April 7, her beloved husband and daughter at her side. Peggy, daughter of Elmer and Martha Foss of Halstad, MN, was the third of four children. She met the love of her life, Gerald “Mick” Mickelson, of Shelly, in high school. They lived life hand in hand through 67 years of marriage. A talented pianist, Peggy played with the Ray Larson Orchestra in the 1940’s, taught piano and later worked as a secretary / bookkeeper. Founding members of Golden Valley Lutheran Church, Peggy and Mick moved to south Minneapolis and became members of Bethlehem Lutheran, remaining active as long as their health permitted. Preceded in death by her parents; siblings E. Marlowe Foss, Elaine Nelson and Roger Foss; and great granddaughter Brady Lindstrom, Peggy is survived by her loving husband; daughter Diane Brady; two treasured grandchildren, Christopher Brady and Colleen Brady Lindstrom (Matt); three great-grandchildren who delighted her in her last days, Oliver, Tilla and Keller Lindstrom; and many dear relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at Normandale Lutheran Church, 6100 Normandale Rd, Edina on Saturday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow.
