Lorraine Iona Hanson
Forman, ND: Lorraine Iona Hanson was born October 30, 1923 northeast of Gwinner, ND to Alfred and Elida (Johnson) Hanson. She attended Willey Township #4, Gwinner Elementary School and graduated from Gwinner High School in 1942.

On November 12, 1945, Lorraine married Donald George Zirnhelt. They lived west of Forman for three years before purchasing their home farm in Dunbar Township in 1948. In addition to raising her children, Lorraine assisted Don with all aspects of the farm.

Kendall John Erickson, 51, of Gwinner, passed away on July 5, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo, after a brave and courageous ten month battle with cancer.

Kendall was born on December 8, 1961 to Kenneth and Clarice (Hegle) Erickson in Oakes. He graduated from North Sargent High School in Gwinner in 1980. He had worked at Ray-Mac, Inc. for the last 20 years before becoming sick. He met the love of his life while moose hunting in 1993.

Eunice Mildred (Litchfield) Anderson
Eunice Mildred (Litchfield) Anderson, daughter of Roland and Millie (Conklin) Litchfield, was born on April 23, 1919, in Gwinner, North Dakota. She attended rural grade school and graduated from Gwinner High School in May of 1938. Eunice was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Anderson on July 2, 1938 in Britton, South Dakota. They moved to Ellendale, North Dakota, where Bob attended Ellendale Normal Industrial College, and Eunice was "housemother" to several athletes. Bob graduated from college, they moved to New London, North Dakota, where Bob taught and coached at the New London High School for one year before enlisting in the US Navy. Eunice and their daughter, Bobette, moved back to Gwinner until WWII ended. They moved to Lidgerwood, North Dakota for three years, and then the family moved to Fargo, North Dakota where they lived for 16 years. Eunice worked at Pepsi Cola Bottling Company until she and Bob moved back to Gwinner in 1967 where they built a fourplex and lived in one of the apartments until Bob passed away in 1998. Eunice moved to Maple Grove, Minnesota in 2003 to be closer to two of her daughters.

Eunice was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Gustaf Adolf Lutheran Church and the Gwinner Duplicate Bridge Club. She loved gardening, cooking, playing cards and spending time with her family.

Roger White
Roger White, 70, Stirum, ND died April 25 at Sanford Medical Center surrounded by family. Roger was born July 31, 1942 in Britton, SD to Paul and Violet (Hill) White. He attended the Stirum School and went on to college in Wahpeton. In 1962, he married Connie Robins and together they had two children: Tracey and Paul. Roger worked at Melroe Manufacturing (Bobcat) until 1974 and then he took on full-time farming. He retired from farming in 2006. Roger was a Gwinner Volunteer Fireman, a member of North Sargent School Board, G.A. Men's Group, Stirum Community Club, Sargent County Water Board, Red River Basin Commission and Vivian Township Board. He became a member of the Mason's and Shiners' in 1998. Roger enjoyed his years of raising grain and row crops, pedal tractor pulls, go cart racing, car club and playing pool with friends. He looked forward to the summer when he could drive his '57 Ford Fairlane Convertible in area parades. He was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed fishing and was always proud to watch his grandchildren in school events. Roger is survived by his wife, Connie; two children Tracey (Jerry) Waswick and Paul (Jennifer) White all of Gwinner, ND. Roger adored his five grandchildren; Shane and Dustin White, Emily, Sarahbeth and Ben Waswick. He is also survived by one sister; Carolyn Hopewell, Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service for Roger will be Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Gustaf Adolf Lutheran Church, Gwinner. Visitation will be Monday, April 29, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 pm with a prayer service following at 7:00 pm held at Armstrong Funeral Home in Lisbon. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Lisbon at a l

Harold Frigen, 93, of Breckenridge, MN, formerly of Milnor, ND, passed away August 8, 2013, at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, MN, under the care of Riveredge Hospice.

Harold was born March 29, 1920 at Monango, ND, to Andrew and Margaret (Hyde) Frigen. They lived on the family farm until 1938, when they moved to the Gwinner, ND area, leaving his brother Edwin and family on the farm at Monango.

Blair E. Thielke, 51, Lisbon, ND, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, unexpectedly at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 11, 5:30 PM at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, ND, with Rev. Morris Stephens officiating. There will be visitation from 4 PM up until the time of the service on Tuesday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Blair was born October 22, 1962, at Fergus Falls, MN, the son of Harlan and Darlene (Johnson) Thielke. He grew up in Wahpeton attending public schools and graduating from Wahpeton High School in 1981. He attended NDSCS in Wahpeton, where he was enrolled in Tool and Die Making. Blair worked for Ro-Banks Manufacturing in Wahpeton for ten years. In 1993 he started employment with Bobcat in Gwinner, ND and lived in Lisbon.

Bruce Ordahl, 47, of Milnor, ND, passed away June 29, 2013, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Bruce Allen, son of Donald and Sharon (Dietzler) Ordahl was born on August 27, 1965 at Breckenridge, MN. He attended kindergarten at DeLamere, grades 1 through 12 at Milnor Public School, graduating from Milnor High School in 1983. Bruce attended North Dakota State College of Science and received an associate degree in Diesel Technology in 1985 and an associate degree in Mechanical Drafting in 2001. He was employed at J & M Printing, Inc., Gwinner, ND. Bruce married Debbie Biss, his long time fiancé on May 10, 2013.

Nancy Elizabeth (Potts) Cote died peacefully March 19,2014 in Marshalltown, IA. She was born February 16, 1953 in LaMoure, ND, the 9th of 11 children. Her parents were Grover (Budd) and Jane (Skovgaard) Potts. She is survived by her daughter, Jessie Sloane, a grandson, Ethan Sloane, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth (Ellie) Sloane, all of Mansassas, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents Budd and Jane Potts and one sister, Virginia Evans.

Bruce E. Aarestad, 70, Fargo, formerly Lisbon, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the ND Veteran’s Hospital, Fargo.

Bruce Erwin Aarestad was born on October 25, 1943 in Fargo, North Dakota, the eldest son of Erwin and Eleanor Aarestad. Bruce’s early years were spent on the family farm in Sargent County, North Dakota. He attended Gwinner School (grades 1 thru 4) and then Forman School (grades 5 thru 7), all in Sargent County. In 1956, Bruce and his family moved to north Fargo where he attended Ben Franklin Junior High followed by Fargo Central High School. He graduated with the Class of ’61.

Rosemary L. Feltis, 83, of Lisbon, ND passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 in Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Rosemary Lorraine Cincera was born May 15, 1930 in Lisbon, ND the daughter of Frank V. and Rose A. (Wagner) Cincera. For her elementary education, she attended township schools and was a boarder/student at St. Aloysius Catholic School in Lisbon. She graduated from Lisbon Public High School in 1948. In 1953, Rosemary married Eugene J. Feltis in St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Lisbon. They were married 23 years. Rosemary was employed at many local establishments, including the Ice Cream Store, Fischer’s Lounge, Vogue Cleaners, Triple Service, The Recreation Center, Hopper’s Restaurant and Hank’s Diner. She retired in 1992 after 18 ½ years as a punch-press operator in fabrication with Melroe Bobcat in Gwinner, ND.
