Mavis Eileen Klosner, age 58, resident of Sharon, ND passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at her home in Sharon.
Mavis was born July 6, 1954 in Sharon, ND the daughter of Bertram and Pearl (Jacobson) Dronen. She grew up and was educated in Finley, ND before moving to Lexington, MN where she graduated Centennial High School in 1972. She married David Klosner on November 25, 1972. The couple made their home in Lino Lakes, MN. Mavis worked various jobs including Mary Kay, local bartending, helping with physical therapy at the nursing home and working in a pizza shop and a bakery. In 2004 she moved to Sharon, ND. Mavis was always taking care of people, she was a true caregiver. She enjoyed camping, spending time with family, going to auction sales, sewing, canning and dressing up for Halloween.

Alton Bendickson
Alton Bendickson, 63, Bejou, MN, died Monday, April 29, 2013, at Veteran Administration Health Care Systems in Fargo, ND, after a courageous battle against cancer.
Alton Keith Bendickson was born March 24, 1950, in Mahnomen, MN, the son of Bertram and Albertha (TerWisscha) Bendickson. He grew up and attended grade school in Bejou. Alton graduated from Mahnomen High School with the class of 1968. In 1969, he entered the US Army. After his honorable discharge in 1971, Alton worked as a police officer in the cities of Fertile and Mahnomen before becoming a deputy for the Mahnomen County Sheriff's Office. In the early 1980's, he was employed at American Crystal Sugar and then for Roger Wang in his plumbing and heating business. Most recently, Alton worked for Stenerson Home Improvement of Moorhead for 12 years, and was also employed part-time at Hector Airport as a security guard. Alton continued to work both jobs until his failing health forced him into retirement. His optimistic attitude was an inspiration to all.

Gripentrog lifts Wahpeton to regional win
WAHPETON, N.D. – Tyler Gripentrog gave an all-star performance on Thursday, hitting a pair of doubles to drive in four runs lifting Wahpeton to a 4-3 victory over Groton, S.D., in the opening round of the Central Plains Division II American Legion baseball regional tournament. “I was trying to sit back and hit the gaps,” Gripentrog said. “It feels amazing. We wanted to win this one for the fans and make a statement coming into the first game and I think we did.”
