I have heard several discussions on numerous media that attempt to paint U.S. Rep. Rick Berg, R-N.D., as a rich slumlord who is driven by greed and is completely disinterested in the middle class and the elderly. First, for those irked by a bad experience in a Goldmark property, you may want to check the names on your rental checks. Berg is now affiliated with commercial real estate.

Clarine A. Lian, 83, Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Monday, December 24, 2012 in HCR Manor Care, Fargo, North Dakota.
Clarine A. Dahlen, was born to Elling and Amalia (Midtmoen) Dahlen on March 16, 1929 at Dahlen, North Dakota. She grew up and attended school at Dahlen and graduated from Dahlen High School. She attended Mayville Teachers College and then taught in rural country schools. Clarine and Glenn M. Lian were united in marriage on June 3, 1951 at Dahlen. They lived in Dahlen, then moved to Mountain, ND, and Cavalier, ND prior to moving to Grand Forks in 1966. She was employed as a teacher’s aide at Kelly Elementary School for many years. Clarine was employed by Goldmark Properties from 1985 until she retired in 1995.
