Susan Stromstad, age 61, of Brooklyn Park, MN went to be with the Lord on December 6th at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital, Minneapolis, after a courageous fight with cancer. Susan ReNaye Stromstad was born August 20, 1951 at Crookston, MN to parents, Raymond & Marvie Stromstad. She attended school in Beltrami and later in Fertile. She graduated in 1969 from the Fertile-Beltrami High School. She attended the Anne Carlsen School in Jamestown and then worked for 3 years at the Crookston Library in the ’70’s. She spent time at Camp Courage in the summers of her youth and later stayed at Courage Center in Minneapolis where she received computer training. She lived at a Mary T Home for handicapped and was employed at Rise Inc. where she used her computer skills. Just this past October she was awarded the “Rising Star” Award for her dedicated work at Rise Inc. She so enjoyed her work that she hoped she wouldn’t have to retire at 65.

Henry Sherman
Henry Sherman, 86, Casselton, ND died on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Henry Joseph Sherman was born Oct. 16, 1926 at Fingal, ND to Henry and Agnes (Schlegel) Sherman. He grew up there and attended Weber country school. He farmed with his father before entering the US Army where he served in the Korean War. Henry married Lucille Morth on June 19, 1956 at Fingal. They made their home in Fargo. He attended Hanson Mechanic School and then worked for Thompson Motors in Moorhead, MN. They moved to Fingal where he farmed and drove school bus. In 1966, they moved to Amenia, ND where he drove school bus. He also served as custodian at the Casselton and Amenia schools for 30 years. They moved to Casselton in 2011.
