James F. Abrahamson, 88, Fargo, died January 10, 2013 at Manor Care Nursing Home. Born in Valley City he married Karen Knecht in 1943 and they had two daughters. He served in the army in WWII where he received the Soldier's Medal for saving four service men. He was post commander of the VFW and life time member of the American Legion. He was an engineer on the Northern Pacific Railroad for 35 years. He and Karen enjoyed traveling in their motor home and spending time with their grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters Diane LaMont, Mandan, Kathy Tiner-Sewell (Dan), San Francisco, CA: Grandchildren, Jill LaMont Goetz, , Mandan and Mike LaMont (Tracy), Fargo, four great grandchildren, and his sister Shirley Meyer, Valley City. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Karen, brother, Arleigh, grandson, Justin Tiner, and son-in-law Ken LaMont.
A celebration of his life will be held at the VFW (202 North Broadway) in Fargo from 11:0

Glen G. Knetter, age 77, resident of Lakota, ND, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Glen was born December 12, 1935 near Marathon, WI, the son of Anton and Amelia (Volhard) Knetter. He attended school in the Marathon/Edgar area, graduating in 1953 from Edgar High School. In 1957 he began operating his own cheese factory in Mason, WI. Glen was married to Darlene Meyers. He moved to Lakota in 1961 to operate a cheese factory there. He later opened a cheese factory in Medina, ND and Pilot Mound, Manitoba with his brothers. Glen was married to Beverly Schneider. He then began operating Knetter Trucking and the Bartlett Hog Farm. Glen married Donna Ahonen Larson on September 18, 1992. He was a lifetime member of the WI and ND Cheesemakers Association and served as president for the last 4 years that it was in existence. Glen retired from the cheese factory in 1995 after 30+ years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing in his younger years, and in recent years he enjoyed traveling in his motor home.

Martha L. McCallum Littlefield, of Moorhead, died peacefully on November 30, 2012, after a brief illness. She was born to Turner S. and May McCallum Sr. on April 21, 1929, in Milano, TX, and graduated from Milano High. She met and married the love of her life, Don Littlefield Sr., on June 19, 1947. They celebrated 61 years of marriage in 2008.

Blymer Morris Lester, affectionately known as Les, was born in Paducah, Texas on March 17, 1923. On January 18th he passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In 1985 he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Marlys. Also preceding in death were his parents, two of his sisters and one brother. Survived by his loving wife of ten years, Joan Lester, his three children, son Steven Lester and wife Ruth of Bismarck, ND; daughter Linda Lester Rand and husband Pete of Minneapolis, MN and son Douglas Lester and wife Jody of Flower Mound, TX. Three step-children Susan Burton and husband Michael of Corinth, TX; Jack Maxwell and wife Alicia of Flower Mound, TX; Steve Maxwell of Atlanta, GA; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; his sister Lucille Miller of Bakersfield, CA; brothers-in-law Alton Peterson of Fort Meyers, FL; Lee Shultz of Springfield, MO, as well as nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Yvonne was born on the family farm on May 7, 1928 to Albert and Alida (Hoffas) Larson. She was the second child of thirteen and was raised on the family farm in the Turtle Mountains. She attended country school in the Turtle Mountains and furthered her education in Bottineau, ND and Hillcrest Academy in Fergus Falls, MN. She received her teaching certificate in 1948 and taught at various country schools in the Turtle Mountains.
