Spuds end regular season with loss to top-ranked Pioneers
MOORHEAD – There was some good news in Moorhead’s 6-4 loss to Class 2A’s top-ranked Hill-Murray boys hockey squad Saturday. The Spuds found out they could hang with the cream of the crop. The bad news is the Spuds don’t have a lot of time to make changes with the regular season now finished.

Soccer referee punched by player in Utah dies
MURRAY, Utah – A 46-year-old soccer referee who was punched by a teenage player during a game and later slipped into a coma has died, police said. Ricardo Portillo of Salt Lake City passed away at the hospital, where he was being treated following the assault last weekend, Unified police spokesman Justin Hoyal said Saturday night.

Mary Johnson, 50, of East Grand Forks, MN died Friday, December 28, 2012 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Mary Johnson was born January 1, 1962 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Louis and Jean (Mankie) Murray. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1980. She worked for Forheart Siding and Window Co. in East Grand Forks. She married Gary Johnson in East Grand Forks on June 2, 1984. They moved to Ft. Carson, CO and then back to East Grand Forks in 1986. In 1990 they moved to Fargo where she worked for Fargo Furniture Outlet and for the State of North Dakota Drivers License Division for a number of years. They moved back to Grand Forks in 2012.

Mary always loved spending her summers out at the lake just outside of Cass Lake, MN. She would look forward to day-long pontoon rides all over the lakes area. Mary also enjoyed a spontaneous trip to the nearby casino. Winning or losing, she always had a good time.

Camille is survived by her children: Rosalind (Loren) Lene of Concrete, WA, Larry (Anna) of Fargo, ND, Bruce (Ann Marie) of Jamestown, ND, and Heather (David) Pederson of Mahnomen, MN; a daughter-in-law, Cathy “Ruth” Ben-Abraham; her special friend, Lyle Sandal; 21 grandchildren: Naarah, Naomi, Samuel, Ethan, Elkanah, Ephraim, Shushanie, Dinah, Enoch, Jonathan, Nathaniel, Eldad, Roxanne, Christopher, Raquel, Janie, Elizabeth, Jacqueline, Lucas, Sarah, and Rhea; 24 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Camille is also survived by her siblings: Sander Severson of Manteca, CA, Rose Ann Johnson of Yelm, WA, June Murray of Kent, WA, and May Haider of Kent, WA.
