V. Jean Beutler, 82, of Moorhead, MN, died Friday, April 26, 2013, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.

Jean was born on February 8, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN, to Tevis and Jeanette (Tomperi) Dudley. She grew up and attended school in Akin, MN. On November 17, 1951, Jean married Duane Beutler in Fargo, ND. They lived in rural Glyndon while they farmed, until moving into Glyndon in 1975. In 1990 they moved to Moorhead.

Dr. Roy A. Johnson
Dr. Roy A. Johnson, age 94 of Fargo, ND, formerly of Minneapolis, MN passed peacefully on May 14,2013

Roy was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 16, 1919, after graduating from Minneapolis South High School, he attended Augsburg College, and Univ. of Minnesota dental school, graduating in March of 1943. After graduation he entered the Army Dental Corps and was assigned to posts in California and India, returning to marry his high school sweetheart, Marion Arliss Erickson on October 16, 1943. Roy joined the Army Reserve after his active duty and retired as a full colonel and chief of dental service for the 5501 USAR hospital at Fort Snelling.

Going home, getting healed: Residents of Fargo orphanage reunite
FARGO – Jay Bergquist of Fargo was only 3 years old when he lived in the North Dakota Children’s home for orphans. Though he was only there for about six weeks, he still remembers it. One of his most vivid memories is of getting in trouble for swearing and being sent to bed without supper. But his older brother, John Sanaker of Cambridge, Minn., took pity on his younger sibling and snuck him some food.
