Roger Hendrickson
Roger Hendrickson, 69, Walcott, North Dakota passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013.

Roger was born on August 7, 1943 in Breckenridge, Minnesota to Alton and Delores (Berg) Hendrickson. He grew up in the Galchutt and Walcott, North Dakota areas. Roger Hendrickson married Stephenie Soeth in Moorhead, Minnesota on November 22, 1961. They lived in Fargo and then in Walcott. He worked for Meinecke-Johnson Construction Company and Aggregate Industries, from which he retired in 2005. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, pinochle, watching sports, and his dog, Molly.

Roger White
Roger White, 70, Stirum, ND died April 25 at Sanford Medical Center surrounded by family. Roger was born July 31, 1942 in Britton, SD to Paul and Violet (Hill) White. He attended the Stirum School and went on to college in Wahpeton. In 1962, he married Connie Robins and together they had two children: Tracey and Paul. Roger worked at Melroe Manufacturing (Bobcat) until 1974 and then he took on full-time farming. He retired from farming in 2006. Roger was a Gwinner Volunteer Fireman, a member of North Sargent School Board, G.A. Men's Group, Stirum Community Club, Sargent County Water Board, Red River Basin Commission and Vivian Township Board. He became a member of the Mason's and Shiners' in 1998. Roger enjoyed his years of raising grain and row crops, pedal tractor pulls, go cart racing, car club and playing pool with friends. He looked forward to the summer when he could drive his '57 Ford Fairlane Convertible in area parades. He was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed fishing and was always proud to watch his grandchildren in school events. Roger is survived by his wife, Connie; two children Tracey (Jerry) Waswick and Paul (Jennifer) White all of Gwinner, ND. Roger adored his five grandchildren; Shane and Dustin White, Emily, Sarahbeth and Ben Waswick. He is also survived by one sister; Carolyn Hopewell, Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service for Roger will be Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Gustaf Adolf Lutheran Church, Gwinner. Visitation will be Monday, April 29, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 pm with a prayer service following at 7:00 pm held at Armstrong Funeral Home in Lisbon. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Lisbon at a l

Roger Edward Mohrbacher passed away peacefully at age 84 on February 28, 2014, surrounded by his family.

Rog was born to Roger and Inez (Webb) Mohrbacher in Minneapolis, MN, on December 29, 1929. He attended St. Thomas University and received his First Class Engineering license from Brown Institute. He served in the US Air Force. After his honorable discharge, he worked as a radio announcer in several cities.

Roger Lee Pickar, age 59, of Kathryn, ND, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Essentia Health in Fargo. Roger was born on March 4, 1954 in Wadena, MN, the son of Albert and Anne (LaDoux) Pickar. He married Elaine (Hersch Iwen) on March 26, 1982. Roger is survived by his wife of 31 years, Elaine; his stepchildren, Curt (Cindy) Iwen, Cindy (Bruce) Somers, Randy (Carmen) Iwen, Marty (Tammy) Iwen, and Rhonda (Marshall) Braaten; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; his siblings, Richard (Pat) Pickar, Robert (Connie) Pickar, and Hazel Von Bank, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry, and niece, Lesa. A memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, West Fargo, on Saturday, January 11 at 10:30A. He was born on March 3, 1933 to Otto and Josephine (Heglie) Larson. He grew up in Walcott, ND and graduated from Walcott High School. Roger Kerns
Roger Kerns died Thursday, August 29th in Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit. He was born April 16, 1933, in Brookings, SD. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from South Dakota State University and a doctorate from the University of South Dakota.

He was founder of Special Olympics in South Dakota in 1968. He also started Camp Happiness on the banks of the Missouri River in Vermillion, SD for exceptional children which provided recreation, fun and happiness for those children who found it hard to fit in other camping situations. He moved his family to Fargo and NDSU in 1971. In 1972, he enlisted the help of some of his students at the college and organized the first Special Olympics in North Dakota. And in all of those years, he was a member of the Army National Guard in South Dakota obtaining the rank of colonel.
