C. Russell J. Ruppert was born September 19, 1922 in Portal, ND to Rose and John Ruppert. After completing college he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in Okinawa Signal Corp.

Russ married the love of his life, Marian at the Old North Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts on March 11, 1944. They moved to Grafton and in 1952 had their son, Merle. The family then moved to Fargo, ND in 1954.

Russell Sanford Jr.
Russell W Sanford Jr., age 59, of West Fargo, ND formerly of Langdon, passed away on Tuesday Aug 6, 2013 surrounded by his family under the care of Hospice.

Russ spent most of his free time fishing, hunting and tinkering around on motors. He was extremely proud to become a grandpa three years ago. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Lou was born in Kindred, North Dakota to C.J. and Gertrude Dahlen. He married Lorraine Evenson in 1945. Lou drove trucks for West Coast Grocery until he retired. He is survived by his wife Lorraine of 68 years, son Russ (Patti) Dahlen, Daughter Joanne (Foster) Thayer, 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 3 step grandchildren, and 8 step great grandchildren. We want to thank the caregivers and staff at the Willson House along with Gentiva Hospice for all their help and support with Lou. At his request, there will be no service. Joyce A. Ankeney
Joyce A. Ankeney, 79, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Eventide Senior Living. Joyce was born in Norman County, MN on April 23, 1934, to Ole and Mabel (Nelson) Bjerk. She grew up and attended school in Mahnomen, graduating in 1953. On October 17, 1953, she married Wayne Ankeney. Together they made their home in Mahnomen and had two children. For many years Joyce worked at the Red Apple Café. The family enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, fishing and snowmobiling. In 1979, Wayne and Joyce moved to Moorhead. Joyce was a wonderful cook, talented baker and rolled lefse paper thin. Her pies and baked goods were enjoyed by many.

Joyce will be dearly missed by her daughter, Debbie Ankeney of Fargo; son, Russ (Margarita) Ankeney of Randleman, NC; grandchildren, Andrea (Dan) Evert of Fargo, Casey Munos of Denver, CO, John (Stephanie) Heier of Fargo, Jessica (Jason) Coltrane of Randleman, NC; great-grandchildren, Asher Munos, Rayne Munos, Rowan Evert, Skyler Heier and Addyson Coltrane. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and six brothers and sisters.
