Rubye Schultz, age 74, of Ulen, MN, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in her home.

Rubye Rae Hansen was born May 16, 1938, the daughter of Clarence and Mary (McKeegan) Hansen in Hitterdal, MN. She attended Hitterdal Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1956. On June 20, 1959, Rubye was united in marriage to JoNeil Schultz in Salem Lutheran Church, Hitterdal. The couple made their home in Hitterdal for the first four years of their married life. In 1963, Rubye and JoNeil moved to Ulen where she was employed at the Northwestern Bank, retiring in 2002.

Richard Francis Schultz, 76, passed peacefully in his sleep Thursday, February 7, 2013, at his Fargo, ND, home surrounded by family, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Richard was born to Francis and Thelma (Holm) Schultz in St. Paul, MN, September 9, 1936. Dick grew up in St. Paul and graduated from White Bear Lake (MN) High School in 1954. He attended Moorhead State Teachers College, where he met his future wife Sharlene Sobolik. They were united in marriage August 13, 1955, at Fordville Lutheran Church, Fordville, ND; after which they made their home in Moorhead.

Duane Anderson Schultz, 86, of Jamestown, ND, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Sanford in Fargo, surrounded by his family.

Duane Anderson Schultz was born August 17, 1926 at Detroit, MI, the son of Adolph Berg and Anna Marie (Anderson) Schultz. The family relocated to North Dakota when Duane was 2 years old. He grew up on a farm located between Kathryn and Fort Ransom, ND. He attended school in Kathryn, graduating from Kathryn High School in 1944. In October of that year he entered the US Army and in 1947, transferred to the US Air Force. During his military career he was rated as a Liaison Pilot and flew clandestine and rescue missions during WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Cold War. Military awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, DSM (GBr), Order of the Red Star 2nd Class (USSR) , DFC (GBr), and Fouraguerre (Fr). He married Dorothy May Dalton on October 6, 1948 in Warrington, England; she died on January 18, 1991. He retired from the Air Force in April of 1966 with the rank of CWO-3 and he was recalled for a short special mission in 1967. He then worked for the US Post Office as a mail carrier for 17 years until retirement. On October 23, 2003, he married his high school sweetheart, Jessie Claire Hanson Hinger at Jamestown and they made their home in Jamestown.

Maxine F. Schultz, 88, Moorhead, Minn, died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Sanford Medical Center after a short illness.

Maxine Fern Champ was born on June 6, 1924 in Baker, MN (town named after her great-grandfather) to Lynn and Gladys (Lamb) Champ. She attended schools in the Comstock area and in 1942 graduated from Glyndon High School. She attended Moorhead State Teachers College. After a brief teaching career she was employed by the Olson Seed & Feed Company of Moorhead. She was united in marriage to Paul B. Schultz, September 6, 1952. They lived in Glyndon and farmed south of town until Paul’s death. She was later a resident at both The Fairmont and Eventide.
